Select Engineering has been manufacturing sheetmetal and general products for the past 27 years. We pride ourselves on the quality and range of work that we are able to produce and are now the largest sheetmetal business on the Auckland's North Shore with a very comprehensive range of machinery and tooling.

Baronet Security Cabinets, one of our products, are regarded as one of the best in the world primarily for the storage of firearms and drugs.

Our range of machinery includes:

4 power presses of 11 to 80 tonnes, capable of high precision punching in stainless steel and plate in thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm to 20mm.
A range of square, rectangle and abround punches - if necessary we are able to get speciality tooling for non-standard work - i.e. louvring.
55 tonne work station which can cut up to 300 x 12 flat bar, 100 x 100 x 12 angles - round and aquare bars. Also used to punch holes, abrounds, etc. in angle, flat bar and channel.
Plate rollers which can roll up to 1800 x 12mm plate.
Pipe rollers which can roll 2 1/2 Schedule 40 and up to 100 x 12 flat bar on edge.
Press Brakes (2) - 1250mm x 21 tonne and 3600mm x 120 tonne with the full range of goose neck, round and folding blades.
2500mm guillotine able to cut 2400mm of 6mm stainless steel.
A large range of power hacksaws, band saws, drill press, linishers, and polishers and a full range of hand tools to complete my job.

Tig: - Stainless Steel, aluminium, steel, copper and brass
Purge and Duel welding
Electric Arc AC & DC
We have ticketed welders when need to 4711 and ASME 9

Our Acid Washing System is environmentally friendly with a bath size of 1150 x 2450 x 900. It is used to wash all stainless steel and aluminium. Our in-house acid washing is of an extremely high standard and is the first stage of electro-polishing.

We are able to source and supply, not only aluminium, stainless steel, and steel but also timber, plastics, plumbing and electrical items through our many suppliers.

We put our success down to having a relatively small but long term customer base, some of whom have been with us for 27 years. If a speciality job is required, i.e. laser cuttiing and NC type punching and are unable to do the job ourselves, we have the capability of getting it done to a high standard utilising local machine shops, toolmakers, electricians and sheetmetal shops.
